Me

My name is Lydia Alvarez. I am fifteen years old. Some things about myself are that my favorite color is green, and I enjoy numerous activities, such as softball, running and dancing. English is actually my favorite subject in school, as well as History. I also love to read. Some more interesting things about me are that my favorite animal is a giraffe. My favorite food is sushi, and my favorite singer  is Shakira. My favorite book is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I also have a lot of background. I was born in Chicago, but my father was born in Mexico City, Mexico. My mothers was also born in Chicago but her whole half of the family came from Chihuahua, Mexico. When I was born, i was named after my great-grandmother who lived to be 108 years old! My long term goals include going to medical school to become a pediatrician. However, my short term goals are to do good in all my classes this school year and to try out for the softball team. Someone i really look up to in my family is my grandma, because she always keeps her composure and she is often referred to as ''the glue that keeps us together''in my family, and I would like to be a person like that when i am older. A teacher I look up to now is Mrs. Garcia for almost the same reason. She always has a lot on her plate but she manages to get everything done, which i think is a good example for a student like me, who gets overwhelmed easily.
